I tend to end up watching BBCAmerica a lot lately, and can relate to some friends from the UK with some of the shows they watch...

So I wonder, what non-US television do you watch? Anything good?

I have found a fondness of Dr. Who and Torchwood from SciFi; so I've begun watching them on BBCA each week when they air...

Evidently last season's American viewings where so popular that they are going to air the episodes for us as they air for those in the UK; which makes me very excited as I'll be able to discuss episodes with acquaintances that i have in the UK...

Torchwood however doesn't strike the fancy of some of my UK friends... It's the first show with an openly bi main character and most of the guys don't feel comfortable with it... I find it a great show, and could honestly care less about the "preference" of the main character; but can see how the constant PDA can get somewhat tiresome...

I find Dr. Who interesting, a very long running show; I love that the main character has changed as far as actors go, and I like that it livens up with a new heroin every so often... Though I did enjoy Rose far more than I do Martha... It was just more fun to see her run around as she didn't have the educational background that Dr. Martha Jones does...

I haven't seen much new foreign television, but as far as older BBC stuff goes, Dr. Who was always really cool, as was Red Dwarf. I loved Neverwhere and The Young Ones cracked me.

Never really watched Red Dwarf, and haven't heard about the others... What're they about?

Neverwhere was a miniseries the BBC did in 1996. Written by Neil Gaiman, it's a great dark fantasy piece revolving around the homeless living under the city of London in London Below. Gaiman also adapted the story into a novel, which I also recommend (but Gaiman is my favorite writer, so maybe there's a bias there).

The Young Ones was an early 80's British sitcom about four guys sharing an apartment. An anarchist, a punk rocker, a hippie and another guy. It ran for two seasons and it's worth checking out for some good hilarity.

Neverwhere sounds good actually; when i get my DVR back up this week I'll go look for it...

As for the young ones, it sounds too "real world" for my liking...

Neverwhere is great, I have the DVDs, I could just bring them over.

As for the Young Ones, it's a lot more "out there" than you might guess, but you might not like it.

I love korean novela. Boys over Flowers.
First time i got hooked up on a show.
I think this is better than the original
from Taiwan's Meteor Garden. Because the
korean version is based on the old one the
cartoon version.
